For me, writing and publishing a book is just the starting point for something bigger. A whole new world opens up when we decide to express our personal message, or that of our business, through a book. Of all the advantages of having a book published, I would highlight the book as a business card.
I see a book as a representation of someone or something, like a service or product, and therefore it ends up being what many people experience first-hand. Thus, a book often helps to establish the first contact between the writer and the reader.
But what are the benefits of having a book as a business card?
There are several. Here are a few. A book:
– gives you recognition and authority, whether in a business area or in your personal life;
– helps qualify customers;
– allows you to reach more people in an organized and incisive way;
– it’s something that not everyone has;
– represents the face of the person behind the writing;
– it’s an excellent way for people to get to know you and then want to be with you;
– is a remarkable piece of marketing;
– help with positioning (personal and professional);
– A book is treasured, while a conventional business card tends to end up forgotten or even thrown away.
As you can see, there are several advantages to having a book out there and perhaps you have even considered writing and publishing your own. The challenge remains.
